Privacy Policy

Skincare by Sandra respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under the Data Protection Act, 2019 (Kenya). The short version: we only collect what we need to deliver your order, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

1. What we collect & why

We do not collect payment card details (payments run through M-Pesa on your own phone), and we do not use advertising trackers on this website.

2. How we use your data

• Processing and delivering your orders — this is the only reason we ask for your details.
• Contacting you about your order via WhatsApp, phone or email.
• Internal records and bookkeeping, as required by Kenyan law.
• We only send marketing messages if you have asked for them — and you can opt out at any time.

3. Sharing

We never sell or rent your personal data. We only share what is strictly needed with:

• Delivery providers — your name, phone number and address, to deliver your package.
• A geolocation service — a visitor's network address is checked once to estimate the country/city of a visit; we do not keep the address.
• Authorities — only if the law requires it.

4. Storage & security

• Your data is stored in our order system, protected with passwords and HTTPS encryption.
• We keep order data as long as required for bookkeeping, then delete it.
• Only the shop owner and authorised staff can access customer data.

5. Your rights (Data Protection Act, 2019)

You have the right to:

• Know what data we hold about you, and receive a copy of it;
• Have incorrect data corrected;
• Have your data deleted (unless we must keep it for bookkeeping);
• Object to your data being used for marketing.

To exercise any of these rights, simply message us on WhatsApp — we respond within a few days. If you are not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).

6. Cookies & visitor statistics

This website only uses a functional session cookie to remember your shopping cart. No advertising or tracking cookies, so no consent banner is needed.

We keep anonymous visitor statistics (such as pages viewed, device type and the approximate country/city of a visit) to improve the shop. We do not store your IP address — visitors are counted with a code that changes every day. To estimate the country/city, your network address is checked once against a geolocation service and then discarded.
